Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
The Renegades version is the closest there is to a "definitive" Storm Shadow. The Amazon version is a bit better because of the extra joint.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
Yeah, I think I saw the Renegades Storm Shadow once and decided not to get him. Didn't want to get the Amazon version because of the extra Snake Eyes and Duke.
More pictures of the movie wave 2 Firefly. Not a bad looking figure, but it doesn't really seem like Firefly. Not really a fan of the street luge thingy either. That said, if it hits clearance, I might pick it up and part swap it with something else.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
I'd probably get just about any of these figures once they hit $4 or lower. But a better-looking movie Firefly is already confirmed.
That is, of course, if people actually buy the inferior earlier figures and clear space for the better later figures. Which is an especially big "if" since those later figures are confirmed and not just rumored.
I swear, if that CG and Night Viper don't get made because of crappy, missing-joint bullshit figures clogging the shelves, I will personally drive to Hasbro's headquarters and abuse their dogs.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
Hisstank put up pictures of a cancelled ROC Arctic Snake-Eyes. It seems like they have made plenty of "Arctic" Snake-Eyes. That said, the body isn't bad, but doesn't really seem like Snake Eyes.
EDIT; Just read a little more about the figure. it was still released as part of POC without the blue paint.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
He looked better in POC, IMHO. He was the first POC SE (supposed to be a desert version, but it wasn't clear).
Looking at the figures on yojoe.com, that Version 60 SE looks quite nice, lack of articulation notwithstanding. I might get one... when Ross has those stupid motorcycles dirt cheap, which, mark my words, will happen.
I take that back. The motorcycles themselves aren't stupid. The fact that their pack-in figures are essentially 1978-styled Star Wars versions of the characters is, and makes the vehicles seem overpriced even though they probably really aren't.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
Speaking of articulation, there are a couple threads at Hisstank with people panicking because some of the new Ironman "Assemblers" figures only have 5 points. It is some weird line where you can swap out regular arms for arms that have missile launchers on them.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
The Dollar General Wave 2 figures are showing up... at Marshall's. So they should also be at TJ Maxx, and there's a chance maybe at Ross, too.
What you lookin' for, Rando? I'm hoping to get Duke, the Cobra Trooper, and maybe Snake Eyes. And most definitely Storm Shadow, since his deco makes him a new vintage Joe (T'gin-Tzu, or something like that) regardless of the name on the package.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
I'm not sure about the DG figures yet. I want to see them in person. I'm already ruling out Cobra Commander, and probably Snake Eyes. Shipwreck and Duke may make good customs.
Wave 2 of the movie 3 packs are showing up at some Targets, too. I'm getting the one with Firefly.

I saw that, too. I figure there'll be millions of those, though.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
Checked 2 Marshalls and 2 Targets. The only thing I found was Shipwreck. I think he needs a new head and some webgear and he'll make either a good green-shirt or an update for one of the the original guys that were in all green.
Depending on traffic, I might hit another Target on the way home.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
I'm hoping Ross gets those Joes, too. It's not a given, but sorta likely, since they often have the same stuff, and the previous bargain Joe line (shitty repaints from the line prior to 25th Anniversary) was all over both. I could walk to one Ross and pass another one twice each day. Marshalls or TJ Maxx are at least a 20-minute drive.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
Wave 2 and 3 have shown up at Target
http://www.hisstank.com/gi-joe-news/gi- ... 76/#images
From the picture, that includes the Bruce Willis Joe Colton, Lady Jaye, Dark Ninja, and Cyber Ninja. Don't recall ever seeing the cyber Ninja before.
I got the new Cobra 3 pack with Firefly. He's a pretty cool figure. The Cobra Trooper from the set ended up being a bit of a surprise. I didn't realize it is basically the Cobra Shock Trooper. He didn't come with the shield and the same guns, but you can take the parachute gear off because he also came with the shock trooper vest. Storm Shadow isn't bad, but isn't great either.
Target also had what looked like the entire wave 1 of the movie figures and I almost bought another Red Ninja. Instead I got both Star Wars 3-packs because they were marked down to $12 each. He has a backpack that holds both of his swords and an arrow.

I found Duke and Snake Eyes at Marshalls today. It looks like they're breaking up the cases, which ought to make things really fun.

Re: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
I did. I didn't post it here because I don't want to get hopes up (mine, yours, or anyone else's). Folks at HisStank are assuming it's a 3.75"-scale vehicle because of the price. I'm seeing that it's listed as "Special Ops," which has a "starter kit" for half the price of a figure, and a "Ninja Army" for even less than that, and don't want to assume that yet.
