Let's see... got to get either another useless Biker Scout or another useless Sullustan for the one leg to the blue droid I'll otherwise be getting. Oh, and looks like I'll be down the leg that comes with useless fatass shirtless bastard pegwarmer resculpt.

Is there a thread for trading b.a.d. parts on ssg?
It seems like a good way to help each other complete droids.

I think I have a dome and a leg around here somewhere, but no idea what droids they're from. Hell, I'm not even sure what figures I got 'em from.

It's not specifically a trading thread, but people have been posting what they need and/or what they have.

As seen here and here, the wave is being shipped with a few different repacks - the revision includes the second Ugnaught. I'm not sure which parts any of these figures come with, though, but there should (hopefully) be options.

I don't know. He definitely wouldn't have been in my top 10 need resculpts, but they did a decent job on him.

With the mail a way offer, can you use any fie UPC's with it?I have one set, but trying to gather one for Slick. I have 5 others but they didnt come with the offer label.

I didn't read the offer that closely. All of the figures I bought acame with the offer label. If you want the UPCs and a label, I saved them. I won't be home for a couple weeks, though. Has there been any pictures of the mail-away figure yet? For $7, it might be worth getting even though I don't collect prequel stuff. I'll just use the UPCs from the next wave of figures I buy.

As long as they're from the Legacy Collection, Saga Legends, or Clone Wars lines on either the blue and white or red and white packaging, they're fine.

I find it odd how some folks are seemingly pleased that Hasblow is so graciously including that variant Rebel Hoth guy in a battlepack...

The more I read Hasbro's answers, the more I get the feeling that they're just baffling the truly pathological collectors with bullshit, and the way certain people are quoting it as "fact" reinforces my belief to that end. The oddest one was that ATAT driver thing- hasbro makes it sound like they go over the "costing" process down to each individual crease, belt-buckle and accessory, then says that somehow the sculpting team decided to make a whole new sculpt despite the impression that they'd meticulously "costed" it to have a new head and a previously used body.

Bottom line, all that mumbo-jumbo is just lube for the ass-fucking the company is now performing on the few die-hard fans

Fuck in the most recent answers they practically came out and said "if you don't buy up all the repainted shit we're cranking out and buy numerous copies of figures you don't want we might not get to making that stuff you obviously really DO want so get buyin!!

Yeah, why are people excited about the Hoth Trooper Battlepack bullshit? He was already produced (even if in nonexistent numbers), so I'll bet my entire fucking collection he comes packed with shitty figures no one wants again and are probably hopelessly outdated by now. It's not like it'll be Torynn Farr, a re-done Hoth Leia, and 2-1B examining a dead Tauntaun.

As for the Hoth guy, I would have preferred a single release, but they fucked up and they're trying get him out there, so whatever.

But the AT-AT Driver thing is indeed bizarre - I remember in the 2006 Endor wave, they said they released Chief Chirpa by himself instead of with another Ewok since a lot of tooling went towards C-3PO's throne. Okay, sure, fine, despite the fact that they've been releasing the C-3PO with the chair nonstop for the last year now, making more than enough money back on it. Anyway, now they're saying they have some money set aside for main characters, and that wasn't affected by the AT-AT Driver? Huh? I thought it was on a wave-by-wave basis?

The "you better buy this if you want that" thing has been popping up more and more lately - I think it comes off as an ultimatum, but it's really the reality of the line. They've been repainting and repackaging shit since day one, so is it really a surprise that they're still doing it now? Well, the cost increase is a surprise, but still. I think this time the statement was in reference to a new Jabba, which would have to be an exclusive to be done right. They really did go balls out with exclusives this year, like the new AT-ST, Dewback, and Octuptarra as far as all-new stuff goes, plus upgrades like the new TIE center pod and Republic Gunship doors/cannons. But it seems like a lot of people overlook these things and focus on the repaints (the only exclusive repaint ship I can think of is the TRU Imperial V-wing, but that was actually in the film). I guess the worst example on Hasbro's part is the ARC-170 being released before the Y-wing - those ARC-170s are barely moving, if at all, and I've yet to see a Y-wing (though I've heard they're trickling in around here).

I wonder how long the line can survive? Or, really, how long it needs to? I would be fine if they cut the number of new figures down to pre-2005 levels, which it does seem like they're going to be doing. There were only 28 all-new basic figures in 2004, plus a ton of repacks and repaints (the 12 VOTC figures not included). In 2009, which a lot of people are calling a slow year, there are 89 figures planned for release between both Legacy Collection and The Clone Wars, or 79, if we don't see the EU and Hondo Ohnaka waves before the end of the year. And that's not including the few variants, and don't forget about vehicles, deluxe figures, comic packs, battle packs, and exclusives. Holy mother fuck.

It's all the more shameful given that the figure IS an army builder and you can BET that he will come with at least 2 previously-released major characters- I could see an all-new "furry" Tauntaun or a bitchin Probot as being a possibilities but seeing what hasblow has "costed" for the previous BPs you know that won't happen. Best one could probably hope for is one o' them radar-dish looking blaster things, but releasing such a generic figure as a BP-only exclusive is an insult. Also Hasbro smugly mentioning that they have the figure in-hand but somehow had to push it back AND saddle it with a bunch of kludge rather than release it on a card that has already been designed (if you believe the "we're already into next fall" bit, which does make sense) is a transparent FUCK YOU. I am surprised that a thread calling them on that bullshit hasn't been made yet, the reaction seems to be "WHEW at lest we're still getting it, sure is nice of Hasbro to make sure it sees shelves in whatever format necessary"

I'm more of a "Boycott the :beard: BP" frame of mind, unfortunately. Maybe someone could start that, it'd at least stir up some shit I bet :ducks:
