Heck yeah it was great. Not a bad performance in the film.

Smokin' Aces
After this weekend, I'm now up to 4 '07 movies.

300
Stardust
Smokin' Aces
Beowulf

Stardust was actually pretty good. It had some of the elements of Princess Bride, but a bit more adult. It was the same mix of comedy and fantasy with more violence than Princess Bride. Beowulf wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The animation was annoying.

Beowulf

Blades of Glory was on HBO yesterday and I was bored. It had some funny parts. It was slightly better than Beowulf.

Wow, you have been a little tear recently RII. Good work.

I recently watched something that I thought was really good, but I can't remember what it was.

So it probably wasn't very good after all.

It is part of Regan's "Trickle Down" theroy. Last year's movies are hitting DVD and HBO. My father actually rented Stardust and Beowulf when we went to visit them a couple weeks ago. He read something about The Golden Compass and wanted to rent it, but it was not our on DVD at the time. It might be out now.

No one else saw Stardust?

I watched the first half of Stardust but then the HD-DVD failed and I could never get past a certain point so I had to send it back. I think I received another one but never finished watching the movie and I eventually sent it back, I believe. Anyways, I did like the first half of the movie. It was very interesting. I definitely plan on finishing it at some point.

Watched Hot Fuzz and Walk Hard recently, enjoyed both. Also added to my updated list is Gone Baby Gone, awesome movie. Hitman was also added, but not in the best category.

Updated List:

Best (Favorites):
300
Knocked Up
Superbad
Grindhouse
28 Weeks Later
Live Free or Die Hard
Disturbia
Eastern Promises
1408
No Country for Old Men
3:10 to Yuma
Saw IV
The Bourne Ultimatum
In The Valley of Elah
Gone Baby Gone
Walk Hard
Hot Fuzz

Worst (Least Favorites):
Spiderman 3
Ghost Rider
Bug
Hitman (could not decide between worst or rest, so I put it here)

Rest (somewhere in between):
Mr. Brooks
Transformers
The Fountain
Blades of Glory
The Simpsons Movie
Breach
Dead Silence
Halloween ( I really did enjoy this one, but it has its flaws)

Still need to watch:

Ocean's 13
The Host
Zodiac
American Gangster
There Will Be Blood
Stardust (need to finish)
Pirates 3
Ratatouille
I am Legend

Man, I really am not much of a movie-goer anymore. These are all I saw from 07 with corresponding grades:

300 - C
Blades of Glory - C
Shrek 3 - B
Knocked Up- B
1408 - C
Sunshine - A
Rescue Dawn - C
Simpsons - C
Superbad - C
Michael Clayton - B
I am Legend - C

Nothing I saw was revolting, but then, when everybody says a nearly 3 hour movie sucks (POTC, Spidey 3) I tend to avoid them. I can think for myself, but life is kinda short. I have No Country, There Will Be Blood, 3:10, and Jesse James at the top of the queue, so we'll see!

I just watched Juno, which only came out on DVD last Tuesday.... but I think it was in theatres just before the end of the year to cash in on Oscar hype. If so, it was my favorite (of only a very few) movies I watched from 2007 by a wide margin. Excellent.

Yeah, Juno was late 2007.
After I first saw it I updated my list and put it at #5, but after a few more viewings, I think I'll bump it up to #1.
I need to re-update my list again.
