there is a gratuitous scene in the first one where kirk's messing around with her green-skinned roomate and hides under the bed while Uhura strips down to her underwear while her green-skinned roomate lounges around on top of her bed in HER underwear...

The green skinned roommate is played by Rachel Nichols, AKA GIJoe Movie Scarlett, if that's more of an incentive for you to watch.
Oh, and the movie is good. Fuck all that artificial nerd rage from when it came out. I liked it.

They're both good. The first one was the better of the two, but both are well worth watching.

There's a gratuitous underwear scene from Alice Eve in the second one also.
I really like the new Star Trek flicks - they're a lot of fun and the cast is great.
I believe it was writers Kurtzman and Orci who described Star Trek as classical music and Star Wars as rock n roll, and they attempted to put some rock n roll in classical music for the reboot. Whatever they did, it worked.

Rachel Nichols was easy on the eyes, but, my God, that woman could not act. If not for Sienna Miller, she'd have been the worst actress in the movie.
Still not sure how they decided to mix those two with the likes of Eccleston and Gordon-Levitt.

I heard Scarlett Johansen has some of those, two. And Angelina Jolie. And Mila Kunis. And every other actress with two X-chromosomes.

I meant "some of those, too." But that's a funny typo and I'm leaving it.

Going for a triple? Does Grimlock work here anymore? Because he's gonna suck some serious nut tonight.
I'm a lazy SOB, so y'all get a repost. If you've been to the other site, you've seen this. If you've been on the Book of Faces, you've seen much of this in different words. But fuck all y'all hoes, here's my reposted bullshit without me even bothering to sprinkle profanity in:
Walking With Dinosaurs. Supposedly the BBC was making a legit dinosaur "nature film," sort of an update to the classic series (almost twenty years old? jeez!!), but some Fox exec--and, without any proof, I'm going to say it's probably the moron responsible for the Fantastic Four reboot--said it wouldn't appeal and forced them to add cheesy dialogue and a hackneyed frame sequence about a thoroughly unlikable boy who doesn't like dinosaurs (as if there's ever been any kid who didn't like dinosaurs). The dialogue is, without a doubt, some of the absolute worst I've ever heard in a film, including the love scenes of Attack of the Clones. And the dinos' mouths don't move because no one bothered to change the existing animation, which actually winds up being creepy as hell. John Leguizamo thoroughly embarrasses himself with the ridiculous crap he has to say.
However, the visuals are incredible. If you can ignore the dialogue, it certainly looks like a worthy follow-up of/update to the original. Though some pop music is used to varying effect ("varying" meaning "it's painfully bad except when a remixed version of Fleetwood Mac's Tusk that minimizes the vocals is used, which sounds cool even though it's used as a sort of theme for dinosaurs with, um, no tusks"), the score is pretty good--nothing on par with Star Wars, but this could've easily have worked as a movie completely free of words (or with only sporadic narration, again like the original).
A worse crime against humanity than the chintzy dialogue is the absence of a dialogue-free audio track on the blu-ray. There are an insane number of alternate languages to hear unfunny jokes in, but no way that I saw to simply turn them off altogether.
Mixed feelings. I'd have to recommend checking it out, especially if you like dinosaurs and/or animation. And definitely in HD. It's beautiful. Just turn the volume down and have some good music playing instead.

Walking with Dinosaurs came out like a year ago and it's sucked for an entire year now. Why are you raging against it now?

You think after the trailers with dialogue aired, I was going to pay $20+ to see it in a theater? The first, dialogue-free trailer had me stoked; later ones convinced me this was a cable movie, or, at best, a $5 bin movie. I got it for the kids for $4 (IIRC) at Walmart's Black Friday sale and just watched it.
Crazy thing: I just learned there is in fact a dialogue-free cut of the movie... only on the 3D combo pack. Which, no shit, I would've bought for much more than $4 the week of release if they'd actually publicized that. But not about to double dip into a pile of shit.

How to Train Your Dragon: Holy shit, how is it that I've not seen an animated feature this good for so long? I kind of figured it was the typical "it's not Disney, but tries to look like Disney" that most non-Disney animated films wind up being. It wasn't until the buzz about the sequel that I even bothered to pay any attention to its existence, and watched it after getting the kids...
...How to Train Your Dragon 2: Damn, even better. It's no stretch to say these sort of destroy the competition to be the best non-Disney animated movies of the 21st century (sorry, Kung Fu Panda, but you're still excellent yourself). But, really, with these and Kung Fu Panda under their belt, I think it's probably safe to say Dreamworks is no longer identified by the funny, but quickly dated almost to unwatchableness, Shrek (which got weaker with each installment, Shrek 4 and Puss in Butts both possibly being worse even than Walking With Dinosaurs).
Short version, if you haven't seen these two movies, they're excellent family-friendly movies and you should unless you're too busy sucking donkey dicks, in which case you should brush your teeth and watch them anyway.

We've already been sucking them off for months. They're amazing.
