I'm definitely with you, Scott. It seems that pain medicine works on every other ailment EXCEPT for a toothache. They fucking blow. Thankfully I haven't had one in some time. Thank God for free dental insurance...kidhuman wrote:I will go with toothache
Sweet berry wine!
Re: Worst pain ever????
I chose "other". I'm sure there has to be something more painful than those options, regardless of how good they are.

Re: Worst pain ever????
I must be immune to toothache. I had an absess form under a broken filling, and didn't know it until the tooth started bleeding. The dentist said it was a wonder I wasn't passing out from the pain, but I couldn't feel anything.
I think infected animal bite definitely needs to be on the list.

Re: Worst pain ever????
yeah, i have to think that there are entries conspicuously absent, like a knee to the groin, ball flick, neck punch, etc...
Life is short. STUNT IT!
Re: Worst pain ever????
I thought about the knee to the crotch, but that goes away after ten minutes.
Damn Anarky, I wish I had your tolerance to pain.

Re: Worst pain ever????
yeah, but you didn't specify "worst chronic pain ever" and a ball-flick stays longer for some reason.kidhuman wrote:I thought about the knee to the crotch, but that goes away after ten minutes.

Re: Worst pain ever????
I choose other.
I never get toothaches, which is very good I suppose. *knock on wood*
and I have never broken a bone. *knock on wood*
I guess the most pain I was in was either a burn of some sort, or when a nail went completely through my hand. Yeah, I'd probably have to say the nail through the hand; the minor surgery on that sucked ass too.
Just thought of another. You all know the leg exercises at the end of a lot of weight benches? You stack the weights and then sit down and extend your legs out, and the weights come up? Well, I caught one of those to the nuts in high school which was just awful. Might have hurt even more than the nail.

"Once there were brook trout in the streams in the mountains. You could see them standing in the amber current where the white edges of their fins wimpled softly in the flow. They smelled of moss in your hand. Polished and muscular and torsional. On their backs were vermiculate patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Maps and mazes. Of a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again. In the deep glens where they lived all things were older than man and they hummed of mystery."

Re: Worst pain ever????
of the choices i picked migraine. i had one once that put me in my room, with the blinds drawn for 24 hours straight. never had one as bad as that since, though i've had the occasional "floating black spot" on my vision, so bad that i could only see out of my periphery. haven't had that in a long time, though.

I've never had a migraine either. *knocks on wood yet again*

Re: Worst pain ever????
I've had a migraine once. I hope to never have one again, but, given my family history, I will.
Yeah, I don't know what was up with that tooth. I can usually endure pain pretty well, but not feeling a tooth completely absessing? That's unusual.
(BTW, I take excellent care of my teeth. This was caused by a tiny chip in a filling from when I was a kid, and, since it never hurt, I didn't realize anything was out of the ordinary until it was way too late.)
(I have had fillings without anesthesia a couple of times, so maybe my pain receptors in my mouth aren't wired right or something.)

I chose "other". I'd take a toothache over a blow to the nuts any day. A stray soccer ball got me right in the boyos in 8th grade and I thought I was going to faint. The pain did go away after about twenty minutes.

Re: Worst pain ever????
I'm going to have to think about this one. I've had a bunch of dental work done (wisdom teeth, braces, extractions), broke collar bone, few concussions (but never really had migranes), stitches several times. I've also bruised the cartilege in my chest 2 or 3 times. That makes it hurt when you breathe.
Broken tail bones aren't supposed to be fun.
Actually, I had an extra set of top front teeth coming in that were surgically removed. There is still a scar on the roof of my mouth from that. If it wasn't for the drugs, that would probably have hurt the most.

Yeah, I had an extra set of my two front teeth. And I always hated that stupid Christmas song.
