Any of you sold anything on Craigslist?

Post by anarky »

I've got a washer we need to get rid of. Long story short, my wife got a free one that is more energy-efficient through a survey (not a bad deal). We just want to unload the old one for probably around $100.

So, does Craigslist actually work? I hear so much about it in the media, I've got to wonder if it's one of those big, useless piece-of-shit sites like Twitter or Monster.com.

My old roommate once used it to sell some excess furniture he had, and his fridge. He got quite a few responses quickly. That was three years ago.
I know its got a reputattion for being skeevy, but it can't hurt to post your washer up there. Say buyer is responsible for transporting washer away.

I once saw an ad for 30,000 bronze and copper age comics for $7000 up in Pasadena. Guy just wanted to unload his collection because his wife was pissed the garage was full. Buyer had to come get them. How I fuckin' wish I had had an extra seven grand laying around that day.

It works. I sold my old motorcycle on it. Actually I bought that bike on it
usually a lot of response, only like two pan out, but all you need is one.
Good luck.

we sold our big, comfy, cushy couch because we got a free smaller, scratchy, down-filled couch (i regret it) on craigslist. we got one of those money order scam responses, but also got someone who was genuine. just deal with local people picking it up themselves and you'll be fine.
Life is short. STUNT IT!

I echo the kijiji sentiment. We've used it numerous times & never had any problems, buying or selling (or giving away for that matter).
